I don’t know how well Bieber and Holmes shapes compare, but I remember that Bieber’s slider and curveball(maybe even his cutter) both were really similar velocities and visually looked similar. Could this be Holmes approach?

The archetype of pitcher (not a lot of lateral shapes) lines up, but there's multiple things that are different between them that cause the comparison to break down. Main thing is that Bieber has a foot more extension and a lower release combined with a better four-seam shape (even if it was slower). Long track record of that pitch working. Holmes' fastball is my concern.

And even though Bieber's slider and curve had similar velo, he actually separated them a lot in terms of drop, Holmes' are much more conjoined.

But I see where you're coming from with the idea!
